1. Instructor Team

Position: Neuroscientist, Candidate of Medical Sciences ,Associate Professor,at Sechenov University.
Biography: Dr. Piavchenko’s research focuses on interdisciplinary approaches, combining behavioral neuroscience, applied pharmacology, and biophotonics. In 2020, he became the first Russian representative to receive the John Kiel Fellowship from the Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE). From 2022 to 2025, he leads Russian Science Foundation projects on neurodegenerative diseases and the development of intraoperative laser speckle contrast imaging systems. He has received awards from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science and serves as the coordinator for the SPIE and OPTICA student societies at Sechenov University.

Position: Veterinarian, biophysicist, Chief Specialist at SciCat( Moscow, Russia)
Biography: Dr. Lapin specializes in experimental microsurgery in laboratory animals, particularly in modeling life-threatening conditions such as stroke, heart attack, and microcirculation disorders. He is a recognized expert in catheterization techniques for arteries, veins, and the cerebrospinal fluid system, with extensive experience in cerebrovascular disease models, including middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and bilateral common carotid artery stenosis (BCAS). He has published 14 articles in top-tier journals indexed in Scopus, including the IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Quantum Electronics and Journal of Biophotonics, with his work featured on the cover of the final 2021 issue, later recognized as one of Wiley’s most downloaded works.
