THEMEStroke Subtype Dependent Synapse Elimination by Reactive Gliosis
SPEAKERDr. Yaohui Tang
DATE:  Thu Aug 26th, 2021
TIME:   11:00am(AEST)   18:00pm(PDT)   21:00Pm(EDT)
             3:00am(CEST)      9:00am(GMT+8)
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Effect of gliosis on CNS injury
  • Phagocytosis of glia cells in healthy brain
  • Phagocytosis of glia cells in diseased brain
2. Glial cells within the glial scar induce synapse loss after stroke
3. Microglial and astrocytic mediated-synapse loss on neurofunctional recovery after stroke
4. Different roles of microglia-mediated versus astrocyte-mediated synapse loss between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke.
Speaker: Dr. Yaohui Tang
